IET Lucknow started by providing B.Tech degree in three branches namely Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics. Two more branches viz. Civil and Mechanical were introduced later.

IET was the first state government Engineering College to start its classes in its own campus from the beginning itself.

The courses are organized on semester programmes and each semester provides for a minimum of ninety instructional days. The medium of instruction is English. Students are evaluated on a continuous basis throughout the semester

IET has a very active alumni association, and its students get together at every meet organized by the association.

Students of IET are assured 100% placement facility through effective placement cell rum by the institute.

The institute has a well-built Library comprising not only of academic books but also a series of magazines, international journals, newspaper and research papers.
